Alors que certains médias italiens évoquaient une possible arrivée de Fabio Capello sur le banc de l'Inter Milan, Massimo Moratti, le président du club lombard, a tenu à apporter un démenti sur le site officiel du club : «Les rumeurs annonçant l’arrivée de Fabio Capello à l’Inter Milan, que ce soit aujourd'hui ou à la fin de la saison, sont sans fondement.»
